Mumbai, Dec. 4 -- Australia's household spending surged 1.3% in October 2025, its strongest rise since January 2024, as improving consumer sentiment and early holiday shopping boosted demand. Key categories like alcoholic beverages, transport, and hotels and restaurants all rebounded after previous declines, while food, furnishings, and miscellaneous items saw faster growth. On a yearly basis, spending climbed 5.6%, marking the fastest annual increase since September 2023 and reinforcing signs that consumers are becoming more optimistic heading into the holiday season.
