Mumbai, May 14 -- The wholesale price index (WPI) for food consisting of 'food articles' from primary articles group and 'food product' from manufactured products group increased from 188.8 in March, 2025 to 189.3 in April, 2025, recording a marginal gain. However, the annual rate of inflation based on WPI Food Index decreased from 4.66% in March, 2025 to 2.55% in April, 2025. Vegetable prices slid 18% while Fruit prices gained around 8% on year. In key agri commodities, Potato prices slumped around 24%.
