Mumbai, Feb. 17 -- Solvent Extractor's Association or SEA has stated in a latest update that the total area under castor cultivation in India for 2024-25 is projected at 8.67 lakh hectares, reflecting a 12% decline compared to 9.88 lakh hectares in 2023-24. This decrease is attributed to reduced sowing across key states. All India castor seed production is estimated at 18.22 lakh tonnes, which is 8% lower than the previous year's 19.75 lakh tonnes Despite the decline in acreage, the all India yield has increased by 5%, reaching 2,101 kg/ha compared to 1,999 kg/ha in 2023-24 on favorable weather conditions.
