U.K, March 16 -- Building on its roots in the region, Apple has announced the creation of a brand-new R&D facility in Munich, to focus on 5G and future wireless technologies, and is investing US$1 billion over the next three years.
This will extend Apple's already heavy presence in the city with its largest engineering hub in Europe.

This new 30,000sqm state-of-the-art facility, dubbed the European Silicon Design Center, will be home to Apple's growing cellular unit, and Europe's largest R&D site for mobile wireless semi-conductors and software.
