Srinagar, March 12 -- Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today informed the House that the up-gradation of roads is being taken up in accordance with the increase in traffic volume and pavement distress, if noticed. The Deputy Chief Minister was replying to a question raised by Thakur Randhir Singh in the Legislative Assembly. He said that the PW(R&B) Department has mandate to construct various categories of roads vis, state roads, major district roads, other district roads and village roads.
