Srinagar, July 5 -- In Ladakh, a commemorative trek was recently organised to Point 4812-an iconic battle site from the 1999 Kargil War-situated at an altitude of approximately 16,500 feet. The event paid homage to the supreme sacrifices made by Indian soldiers, including Captain Keishing Clifford Nongrum, Maha Vir Chakra (Posthumous), who led a brave assault at this location.Participants retraced the original route taken by assault teams during the war.
