Srinagar, May 23 -- Srinagar surpassed the previous records on Thursday as the summer capital recorded the third highest-ever temperature in the month of May at 34.4 degree Celsius.According to an independent weather forecaster, Faizan Arif Keng, Srinagar recorded the season's highest day temperature today at 34.3 degree Celsius.He said Srinagar has recorded the third highest-ever day temperature in the month of May in 133 years.The previous record was 34.3 degree Celsius recorded on May 28, 1971, he said.The temperature recorded stands nine degrees above normal for Srinagar, a MeT official said.Other parts of Jammu and Kashmir also witnessed unusual heat.Qazigund recorded a maximum of 33.5 degrees Celsius, its third-highest May temperatu...
