Srinagar, May 19 -- Jammu and Kashmir continues to grapple with an intense heatwave, with Srinagar recording its hottest day of the season for the second consecutive day at 32.2degC.Several other parts of the Valley also experienced unusually high temperatures. Qazigund recorded the highest temperature of the season at 33.0degC, while Kokernag touched 31.4degC. The popular tourist destination of Pahalgam saw a high of 27.2degC. In north Kashmir, Kupwara registered 29.9degC, whereas Gulmarg remained relatively cooler at 23.6degC.The heatwave extended to the Jammu region, where Jammu city scorched at 40.0degC.
