Srinagar, May 30 -- The second civil defence mock drill named "Operation Shield," which was earlier scheduled for May 29 and had to be postponed due to administrative reasons, will now be held on Saturday (May 31).The mock drill will take place across all districts of states and Union Territories adjoining the western border of the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.According to an order issued by the ADG Civil Defence, the exercise is being conducted under Section 19 of the Civil Defence Rules, 1968, to bolster preparedness against potential hostile attacks.This follows the first Civil Defence Exercise held on May 7, 2025, which identified and addressed several critical preparedness gaps in vulnerable are...
