Srinagar, March 8 -- Schools in Kashmir re-opened on Friday after remaining closed for almost three months on account of winter vacations.The schools were scheduled to reopen on March 1 but the government extended the vacations by a week due to inclement weather.Officials said around 10,000 government and private-run schools across the valley reopened this morning and resumed their academic activities.Minister for Education Sakina Itoo extended best wishes to the students and teachers on the reopening of schools."As Winter Zone students join their schools after winter break, I wish them success for the session and future.
