Srinagar, March 25 -- The Omar Abdullah government on Monday disclosed in Assembly that an expenditure of Rs 155 crore was incurred for conducting the 2024 Assembly elections in the Union Territory.Responding to a cut motion raised by MLA Kupwara, Mir Muhammad Fayaz, Minister in-charge of the Election Department, Javaid Ahmad Dar, informed the Assembly that Rs 155 crores was spent on conducting the 2024 Assembly elections.He said the release of funds to clear liabilities from the recent elections is under active consideration by the Government.The elections were held in three phases during September and October last year. The National Conference emerged as the single largest party, securing 42 seats, while its ally Congress won six seats....
