Srinagar, Oct. 11 -- XYZ (name withheld), a young woman from a humble rural background, faced severe hardships early in life. At just 18, she began working as a labourer to support her family. Life was difficult and moments of relief were rare. In a vulnerable phase, her older cousins introduced her to heroin, claiming it would ease her pain and make her feel free. "At first, they gave it to me for free," XYZ recalls. "But soon, I couldn't live without it."Within months, XYZ was trapped in the grip of addiction.
