Srinagar, Dec. 5 -- The Pulwama district administration on Monday intensified its crackdown on illegal mining, seizing 11 vehicles during night raids across multiple locations in the district. Officials said teams of the Geology and Mining Department conducted surprise inspections in Wuyan, Malangpora, Awantipora, and Pastuna areas of Tral, where vehicles were found engaged in unauthorised extraction and transportation of minerals. The seized vehicles included tippers and dumpers operating without valid permits or e-challans.Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Basharat Qayoom has directed officials to maintain daily enforcement drives and strengthen coordination with the Revenue and Police Departments to ensure round-the-clock monitoring.
