Srinagar, March 8 -- A National Law University (NLU) will be set up in Jammu & Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah revealed on Friday."Our Government is committed to establishing a National Law University (NLU) in Jammu & Kashmir to drive legal education reforms and research. With world-class training aligned to contemporary standards, the NLU will empower future legal professionals and enhance justice delivery. I propose a provision of Rs.50 crore the budget for this transformative initiative," Omar said in his speech.The long-awaited move will give rise to the 28th NLU and attempt to bring legal education in the region in line with national standards.This initiative is set to bring Jammu and Kashmir in line with other states that alre...
