Srinagar, Feb. 4 -- What was once a lifeline for the people of South Kashmir, the Nalla Rambi Ara, has now turned into a 'Khooni Nala'-a death trap-due to rampant illegal mining. Despite repeated complaints to the Geology and Mining Department, no concrete action has been taken against corrupt officials allegedly involved in facilitating this unlawful activity. The local population has raised serious concerns over the ecological devastation caused by unchecked extraction of sand, gravel, and boulders.
