Srinagar, July 25 -- In our country where crimes against women remain a persistent and troubling challenge, the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development's disclosure in the Rajya Sabha on July 23, 2025, offers a welcome glimmer of hope. According to the Ministry, Jammu and Kashmir along with Ladakh have reported comparatively lower and stabilised figures of crimes against women over the past five years. This trend, while needing careful contextual interpretation, is nevertheless a positive development that warrants both recognition and introspection.
