Srinagar, July 21 -- Introduction Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas(schools)collectively constitute an educational setup that is being run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti under the patronage of Ministry of Education at union level. The credit of establishing this well developed and well-equipped set up goes to late Shri Rajiv Gandhi Ji-then P.M of India who while giving a nod to National Education Policy(NEP 1986) in order to modernize and expand the higher education program across India found the said educational setup.
