Jammu, Feb 19, Feb. 20 -- The J&K government will start regularising daily-rated, ad hoc, and temporary employees in 2026 through a legally and financially sustainable framework. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah informed the Assembly that over one lakh daily wagers and casual labourers are currently engaged across departments. A committee under the chief secretary is examining the matter to ensure any policy avoids legal hurdles. The process will follow a transparent timetable, with careful verification of the workforce and proper groundwork before implementation.
