Srinagar, June 18 -- Police in Ganderbal have secured conviction from the Court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Ganderbal against a rape accused namely Ghulam Mohammad Lone son of Abdul Samad Lone resident of Pethpora Chattergul, in connection with FIR No. 27/2017 under section 376, 451 RPC of Police Station Kangan. The accused has been sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.1,00,000 (One Lakh Rupees).The case was initiated on the basis of a complaint received on 13/04/2017 from a woman resident of Pethpora Chattergul, who alleged that the accused had forcibly entered her house and raped her, which subsequently led to pregnancy.The Hon'ble Court, after thorough trial proceedings and examination of evidenc...
