Srinagar, Dec. 16 -- Fuel consumption in Jammu and Kashmir crossed 1.35 million tonnes in 2024-25, reflecting a steady rise in demand for petrol and diesel in the Union Territory despite persistent variations in fuel prices across states and Union Territories, the Union government has informed Parliament. Data tabled in the Rajya Sabha by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas shows that petrol consumption in Jammu and Kashmir increased to 412.9 thousand metric tonnes in 2024-25, up from 273.1 thousand metric tonnes in 2020-21.
