Srinagar, Sept. 20 -- In a major step to support horticulture growers, the Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing today provided corrugated boxes to the farmers of Batote under the "Support for Grading and Packaging" scheme on a 50% subsidy basis. As many as 6,300 corrugated cardboard boxes of different sizes were distributed among fruit growers of the area. The measure aims to improve post-harvest management and enhance market competitiveness of local produce.The growers of the area appreciated the department's support, expressing gratitude for the initiative.
