Srinagar, April 10 -- The recent disclosure that over 32,000 government positions remain unfilled across 37 departments in Jammu and Kashmir is deeply concerning, especially given our escalating unemployment crisis. The Health and Medical Education Department alone accounts for 7,851 vacancies, underscoring the critical gaps in essential public services. Compounding this issue is the alarming unemployment rate among the youth. The latest Periodic Labour Force Survey reveals that Jammu and Kashmir has the highest unemployment rate in India for individuals aged 15-29 in urban areas, standing at 32%.
