Srinagar, Nov. 18 -- Police on Monday arrested a drug peddler during naka checking at Malkha Chowk in Nowhatta and recovered a large quantity of contraband from his possession. Officials said a team from Police Station Nowhatta intercepted a suspect during routine checking. On search, 3.40 kilograms of a charas-like substance and 12 tramadol injections were recovered. The accused was immediately taken into custody.He was later identified as Haider Hilal Wani, son of Javid Ahmad, a local of Khati Darwaza Rainawari.Police said a case under FIR No. 57 of 2025 under sections 8, 20 and 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowhatta.
