Srinagar, Dec. 25 -- Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today chaired a meeting of Deputy Commissioners and concerned departmental officers to review the proposed revision of stamp duty rates for the upcoming year. During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners to rationalise the proposed increase in stamp duty in accordance with prevailing market value rates, transaction patterns, and land-use categories. He emphasised the need to address anomalies in stamp duty rates, particularly in contiguous and adjoining areas, to ensure uniformity and fairness.
