Imphal Dec 5, Dec. 6 -- The 2nd DGAR Men and Women Polo Tournament 2025 commenced today with great fervour at the iconic Mapal Kangjeibung Polo Ground, the oldest polo ground in the world, here.Organised by the Assam Rifles in collaboration, the tournament marks a significant revival of major polo events in Manipur after a four-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and recent ethnic unrest.The second edition of the championship builds upon the resounding success of its inaugural season held in January-February earlier this year.A total of 38 teams comprising 33 men's and 5 women's teams from across the region are participating in the tournament, which will continue till December 20.
