Kupwara, Jan 21, Jan. 21 -- A brief exchange of fire was reported along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Tuesday evening, officials said. According to authorities, personnel of the 06 Rashtriya Rifles were installing surveillance cameras near Bala Keran village, under Police Station Keran, at around 5 pm when Pakistani troops fired two rounds in the air from across the LoC. In response, Indian Army personnel fired one round in the air as a precautionary measure. No casualties or damage were reported on either side. Officials said the situation remained under control and security agencies continue to maintain close surveillance in the sector.
