Srinagar, Sept. 17 -- A designated TADA Court in Jammu on Tuesday dismissed the bail applications of two accused in the assassination of Mirwaiz Moulvi Mohammad Farooq, who was gunned down in Srinagar in the early 1990s. The court ordered that both the accused be lodged in Central Jail. The assassination of Mirwaiz Farooq, a prominent religious and political figure, had sent shockwaves across the Valley more than three decades ago. The case was investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation, which held Hizbul Mujahideen commanders Abdullah Bangroo and Rehman Shigan responsible for hatching the conspiracy.
