Srinagar, Jan. 16 -- In a heartfelt tribute to the nation's guardians, Assam Rifles celebrated Armed Forces Veterans Day at its Sector Headquarters in Churachandpur, honoring the dedication, service, and sacrifices of military veterans across India. Armed Forces Veterans Day, observed annually on January 14, commemorates the formal retirement of Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa, OBE, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, who retired on this day in 1953.
