Lal Maati, Feb 2, Feb. 3 -- In a prompt humanitarian response, personnel of the Assam Rifles undertook an immediate rescue operation and provided timely first aid to injured civilians following a road traffic accident on the Lal Maati route on the evening of 31 January 2026. A passenger bus travelling from Mokokchung to Dimapur met with an accident due to overspeeding and loss of control, resulting in a collision with a roadside retaining wall. Upon receiving information, troops of 45 Assam Rifles swiftly rushed to the accident site and initiated rescue operations without delay.Assam Rifles personnel evacuated injured passengers from the damaged vehicle and rendered immediate first aid at the site.
