Imphal, Feb 4, Feb. 5 -- In observance of World Wetlands Day, Assam Rifles carried out community-driven environmental initiatives at Komlakhong (Imphal West) and Moreh (Tengnoupal District), emphasizing the critical role of wetlands in maintaining ecological balance and supporting human wellbeing. At Komlakhong, in collaboration with the Forest Department and local residents, Assam Rifles organized a plantation drive, planting 200 saplings including sal, teak, and bamboo along wetland fringes.
