Srinagar, Jan. 26 -- A total of 28 personnel from Jammu and Kashmir have been recognized for their exemplary service and gallantry among 942 police, fire, home guard, civil defence, and correctional services personnel across the country. The awards were announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the occasion of Republic Day 2025.Additional Director General of Jammu & Kashmir, Nitish Kumar, and Anand Jain are among those awarded the prestigious President's Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM).Of the 95 Gallantry Awards (GM) presented nationwide, 28 were conferred upon personnel from Jammu and Kashmir, 28 from Left Wing Extremism-affected areas, three from the North-East, and 36 from other regions.
