Jammu, Feb 19, Feb. 20 -- The School Education Department reported 12,977 vacant teaching posts in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu division accounts for 7,985 vacancies and Kashmir 4,992. Districts with highest vacancies include Rajouri, Kathua, Jammu, Poonch, Anantnag, Budgam, Pulwama, and Kupwara. Education Minister Sakeena Itoo said no school has been upgraded since November 2024, as upgradation requires infrastructure and post creation, pending financial approval.
