South Africa, March 21 -- I recently started to experiment with this one idea. Can South Africans name the 5 languages in our national anthem with absolute conviction? To my surprise, when I ask this question to my audiences at board meetings, conferences, my podcast, people can name 3, but in most cases, people can't name the 5th language.
This peaked my curiosity. Surely, if we as businesses and marketers represent a rainbow nation, this should be the very least that we as Africans should know about each other's cultures?
Let's be honest, South Africa is complex culturally, linguistically and historically, but in the attempt to better serve our nation, our people, our customers and putting humans first, should we not have more curiosity...
