3 TIMES NATIONAL-AWARD WINNING CHOREOGRAPHER PASSES AWAY, A HUGE LOSS FOR THE INDUSTRY!
Chennai, July 3 -- "She passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 2.30 am at the hospital," Saroj Khan's nephew Manish Jagwani was quoted saying. Meanwhile, a test for COVID-19 gave a negative result. The funeral is said to take place today.
For the unversed, Saroj Khan received the National Award for Best Choreography three times - Devdas (2003), Sringaram (2006) and Jab We Met (2008). Her career spanned over 40 years where she choreographed over 2,000 songs and is known as "The Mother of Dance/Choreography in India".
Tributes have started to pour in for the acclaimed choreographer. Bollywood's Khiladi Kumar tweeted that "she made dance look easy almost like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry."
