Dhaka, April 1 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus's first state trip to China has been a huge success for the interim government.

Speaking at his Thakurgaon home on Tuesday, Fakhrul said the Awami League government had forged a "one-sided" relationship with China.

"But after the change of the government, China has also changed their notions. China is speaking to almost all the political parties [of Bangladesh] now," he said.

"The chief advisor is the head of government. And being so, he represents Bangladesh. Because China is a very prosperous country, being the second-largest economy in the world after the US, its investment in Bangladesh is a lot as well.
