Dhaka, Dec. 28 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has instructed the National Cyber Security Agency to intensify efforts to counter all forms of cybercrime ahead of the February elections.

Yunus gave the order on Sunday at a meeting of the National Cyber Security Council, according to the Chief Advisor's Office (CAO).

"We must strengthen our technological capacity for the next election and confront all forms of cybercrime decisively," Yunus said.

"As the government brings more citizen services online, both domestically and internationally, ensuring their security and smooth operation is essential."

He instructed officials to prioritise sectors providing citizen services.
