Dhaka, March 30 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has reiterated his hope that over a million Rohingya, who are taking refuge in Bangladesh after being forcibly displaced from Myanmar, will be able to celebrate the next Eid back in their homeland.
In an Eid message posted on the chief advisor's official Facebook page on Sunday, Yunus expressed his hope that the "1.2 million guests" would soon be able to return home safely.
The message was accompanied by a video highlighting the plight of the displaced community.
"Eid Mubarak to all. As we celebrate Eid safely and joyously, let us remember the more than 1.2 million guests who remain in distress in our country. I pray they will be able to celebrate their next Eid in their own homeland."
