Bangladesh, Feb. 17 -- A group of writers, publishers and cultural activists have demanded within 72 hours the release of poet Sohel Hasan Galib who has been detained on charges of hurting religious sensibilities.
They set the deadline at a protest rally and human chain at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair on Monday.
Publisher Mahabubur Rahman said at the programme, "If Galib is not released within 72 hours, we will also file petition at the international level. Don't judge us by numbers."
Galib, who was arrested under Section 54 on charges of hurting religious sentiment, was taken on a two-day remand for questioning.
