Dhaka, Jan. 15 -- Police have recovered the body of a housewife whose throat had been slit from Kurigram's Nageshwari Upazila.

The body was recovered from Ganirchar village in Narayanpur Union around 8pm on Wednesday, said union council Chairman Mostafizur Rahman.

The victim, 26-year-old Shahida Begum, was the wife of local resident Azizul Islam and the mother of two children.

Chairman Mostafizur said Azizul runs a tea stall at the nearby Kalarchar Bazar. "On Wednesday night, he was at the shop with his elder daughter, while Shahida and their two-and-a-half-year-old child were at home.
