Dhaka, Jan. 31 -- A clash has broken out between activists of the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami in Chauddagram Upazila of Cumilla, leaving at least seven people, including a woman, injured.
Chauddagram Police chief Abu Mahmud Kawser Hossain said the violence occurred around 2:30pm in Hatbair village of Jagannathdighi Union.
Police and Army personnel later went to the scene and brought the situation under control.
BNP and Jamaat activists have since traded blame over the violence.
The injured were named as Jamaat leaders Rabiul Hossain Rocky, Zakaria Russel, Kazi Russel and Rifat Sani, along with Chauddagram Upazila BNP Vice-President Soleman Chowdhury.
