Dhaka, Jan. 26 -- A woman and two children have died in Gazipur after leaping in front of a train in an apparent suicide, according to police.

The incident occurred around 11am on Monday at a railway crossing in the Nayanepura area of Ward No. 41, said Pubail Police Station chief (OC) Atikul Islam.

The woman was identified as 25-year-old Hafeza Khatun Mala from Gazipur's Kaliganj Upazila. The two children were her 8-year-old daughter Tabassum and 5-year-old son Maruf.

The identity of the woman's husband was not immediately known, although police said her in-laws' home was in the Aturi area under Joydebpur Police Station.
