Dhaka, April 24 -- A day after a heatwave began blowing through four districts in Bangladesh, it has spread to 20 more.
A total of 24 districts in the country are expected to experience searing heat until Sunday, after which temperatures are expected to cool off.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) made the predictions in its forecast on Wednesday.
Tuesday saw mild heatwaves sweep over Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore and Chuadanga.
But according to the Met Office's Wednesday bulletin, eight districts in the Rajshahi Division and another 10 in the Khulna Division, as well as the Manikganj, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Dinajpur, and Nilphamari districts are seeing mild to moderate heatwaves.
