Bangladesh, Sept. 26 -- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) says the low-pressure system formed in the Bay of Bengal has intensified and transformed into a well-marked low.

As a result, the BMD has asked the four maritime ports of the country to raise local cautionary signal No. 3.

In a special warning on Friday, the BMD said that the low -- located in the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining west-central bay off the Odisha-Andhra coast of India -- turned into a well-marked low located in the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining central bay around 6am on Friday.
