Dhaka, Nov. 28 -- Prices in Dhaka's kitchen markets remain high despite a rise in the supply of winter vegetables, with a gap of around Tk 100 per kg between old and new potatoes.
Fish prices, however, have fallen by up to Tk 100 per kg over the week.
At Jatrabari, trader Shamsul Islam told bdnews24.com that prices of most fish had dropped.
"A week ago, rohu was Tk 350-400 per kg. Today, even on Friday, it is Tk 320. But look, there are no buyers," he said.
Although Fridays usually attract more shoppers, many were seen bargaining and leaving without purchasing, while some bought only in small quantities.
Farmed tilapia has remained at Tk 130 per kg for the past two weeks. Pangas catfish also stayed unchanged at Tk 180 per kg.
