Dhaka, July 3 -- The interim government has dismissed Assistant Commissioner Tapashee Tabassum Urmi for posting a social media status questioning the legitimacy of the administration and criticising Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice confirming this major disciplinary measure under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, saying that the allegations against her had been proven.
Urmi, who was serving as an executive magistrate in Lalmonirhat, had been suspended since Oct 7, two days after making the post.
A defamation case against her is ongoing at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court.
