Dhaka, Jan. 30 -- The interim government is considering "July 36 University" as the name for the new university dedicated to seven government colleges that were previously affiliated with Dhaka University.
A committee led by the University Grants Commission, or UGC, Chairman Prof SMA Faiz has proposed the name.
Prof Faiz told bdnews24.com the final decision would be made after discussions with students.
He said: "We have considered a few names, and students have also suggested some. Among them, we liked the July 36 University.
"The name was also praised by the education advisor when we presented it to him. However, the final decision will be up to the students."
