Dhaka, Nov. 25 -- The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) has held a panel discussion on "The Art of Language Documentation and The Role of Technology in Linguistics Research" as the culminating session of a three-day student workshop.

In a media statement, the university said the event took place on Nov 22, bringing together linguists, community activists, and cultural representatives to explore methods of documenting languages and the role of technology in linguistics research.

It added that the workshop, facilitated by David A Peterson, senior linguistics fellow at ULAB and associate professor of linguistics at Dartmouth College, USA, trained participants in ethical practices for language documentation.
