Dhaka, June 11 -- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is set to begin a two-day official visit to Canada on Saturday, Jun 14.

The announcement came on Wednesday from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who confirmed that Starmer will be visiting Ottawa during the weekend.

According to the Canadian Prime Minister's Office, "Prime Minister Starmer's visit will strengthen the long-standing economic and security partnership between the two nations - and deliver growth and prosperity for our peoples."

Following the bilateral visit, Starmer is expected to attend the G7 Leaders' Summit, which will be held in Alberta from Jun 15 to 17.
