Dhaka, June 20 -- A case has been filed against five individuals over the "gang rape" of a student from the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) and the alleged filming of the act, with two of the accused being students at the same university.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police's Additional Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam said the case was filed at Kotwali Police Station on Thursday by the victim herself.

According to the case statement, the incident took place on May 2 at a student mess in Sylhet city.

The complaint alleges that the victim was raped by multiple individuals, who also secretly filmed and photographed her in compromising situations.
