Dhaka, Dec. 21 -- Police have arrested nine people in connection with the attack on a police outpost following a road accident that killed two people in Chapainawabganj.

Two policemen have also been withdrawn over the incident, confirmed Chapainawabganj Police Superintendent ANM Wasim Feroz.

The arrests were made hours after a case was filed on Friday against 15 named and 250 to 300 unnamed suspects. The case was filed with Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station.

The arrested suspects have been sent to jail.

The accident occurred on Friday when two men on a motorcycle tried to speed away, fleeing a police call to stop by a checkpoint. The motorcycle was run over by a truck near the Circuit House.
